LPA.

This vision system was to inspect a small part called the LPA. As you can see from the picture, we did not have a good image to work with. On top of that, what we were inspecting for was pretty vague. We are inspecting for any 'general damage' to the part. This made it particularly difficult. They had tried to use patmax in the past but it was too mysterious.

We had to work with Cognex 2.8 because that is what the customer uses on site. We ended up inspecting all of the dark masses (notches, holes) that we see, and measuring their size and position in relation to eachother. Then we created an easy interface at the top of the spreadsheet that helps them make adjustments to tolerances.

Check Valve Pumps.

This was another difficult inspection. Although not as difficult as the LPA (above), the images we had to work with were not great as you can see. The requirements were just as vague. Look for general defects. We used somewhat the same method as with the LPA: looking at the dark spaces, and measuring their size and positions in relation to eachother.
